  • American National Insurance (ANICO) – ANICO provides a broad line of insurance and financial products through an agent network across 50 states.  These products include life insurance, annuities, health insurance and more.  CU*Answers has developed a daily data file extract process to be delivered to ANICO.

  • Velocity (ILS) – Velocity ILS (Intelligent Limit System) is an overdraft management and reporting system for managing overdraft services as a line of business, while also meeting regulatory/compliance expectations.  CU*Answers has developed a daily file exchange process for various member account/overdraft information.
  • Marquis – Marquis provides marketing and compliance software as well as expertise for clients to assemble, analyze and act on their data – including a better understanding of member relationships and potential opportunities.  CU*Answers has developed a daily file extract to be delivered to Marquis.

Developer’s Help Desk Reflections: Q4 Newsletter

As we wrap up 2019, Developer’s Help Desk would like to introduce two key leaders per our custom development processes.  Read the Developer’s Help Desk Q4 Newsletter to hear more on the following topics:

  • Lorie Morse, AVP of Integrated Technologies, discusses the steps involved in receiving custom requests and how these are presented to the DHD Project Team, including the bid process and final approval.
  • Kim Claflin, Manager of Custom Services Development, explains her duties in gathering requirements from credit unions and vendors to determine the scope of a project, as well as communicating project statuses and overseeing data.

During the fourth fiscal quarter of 2019, the DHD team received 147 custom project requests and completed 94 custom projects, which represented 3,075 programming hours.  These statistics and more can be viewed within the Q4 Newsletter!

  • Sageworks (Abrigo) – provides financial analysis and risk management software to financial institutions.  CU*Answers has developed a daily data file extract to be delivered, which may include various loan, collections and deposit data.
  • Suntell – offers a risk management system for various commercial loan origination and loan management services.  CU*Answers has developed a daily data file extract to be delivered.

CU*Answers DHD client participation steadily growing

CU*Answers announced that the volume of custom programming projects submitted through its Developer’s Help Desk (DHD) is steadily increasing. For its recently completed 2019 fiscal year, the team announced that 272 custom programming projects were fully completed, which represented nearly 19,000 programming hours. The volume of custom project requests received also increased by over 15% as compared with the previous 12-month fiscal period.

Scott Page, Developer’s Help Desk business manager, said: “It’s very exciting to see the level of growth of custom programming project requests being received, developed and moved into production. The DHD business model is designed to provide clients a unique partnership opportunity to design, build and manage custom software solutions on their terms. Per these latest statistics, the volume of participating clients continues to escalate.”

The Developer’s Help Desk Boot Camp is a hands-on Do It Yourself experience; a unique experiment in how solution designers and architects from credit unions can take advantage of the expertise of the designers, developers, testers, and documenters at the CUSO to produce a finished product. It’s an experiment in proving out the point of the DHD online store – can credit unions use DHD resources to help them build something new?

Nominate your project, including a plan for developing and launching your project. You’ll work alongside CU*Answers and cuasterisk.com team members to build it, but you are the general contractor and the visionary.

DHD custom projects volume growing

CU*Answers announced its Developer’s Help Desk (DHD) initiative is steadily growing as the volume of Design Studio (custom software) project requests being submitted continues to rise. During the fourth fiscal quarter of 2018, 53 Design Studio projects were fully completed, which represented over 1,100 programming hours. CU*Answers also said that for its recently completed 2018 fiscal year, it had completed 205 Design Studio projects representing over 6,500 programming hours. The volume of Design Studio project requests received increased by over 40% from the previous year.

Scott Page, business manager for the Developer’s Help Desk, said the DHD is designed to provide a new and exciting vision for how client software development projects are handled by CU*Answers. It’s uniquely targeted to facilitate clients who wish to design, build, and manage custom projects in a new, innovative way. For example, he described how clients are empowered to be the project architect, and CU*Answers professional services may be contracted only as desired in the overall project scope.
